Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust

The Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides community, specialist mental health and learning disabilities services to the people of Somerset. Our aim is to provide the best possible service to individuals and to encourage independence and recovery. On 1 April 1999 Somerset Partnership became the first Trust in Britain to combine health and social care services in one organisation. On 1 May 2008 the Trust was granted Foundation Trust status and on 1 August 2011, the Trust acquired Somerset Community Health, the main provider of Community Health Services in Somerset. We have a national reputation for innovation and best practice and the results of the 2009 Staff survey put us in the top 20% of mental health Trusts nationally.

Somerset is an unspoilt rural and picturesque County with a population of just over half a million. It has a long coastline and wide range of attractive scenery including the Mendip and Quantock Hills and the grandeur of Exmoor contrasting with the flat wetlands and peat areas of the Somerset levels.
