School Nurse, Band 5

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a two community nurses to join the School Nurse team in Mendip. The School Nurse is key in the delivering of the healthy child programme 5-19 years in Somerset this includes the delivery of the national public health programmes and other public health interventions for school aged children and their families in a range of settings to improve their health outcomes.

This role will support and advise the skill mix team on a daily basis and support the development of innovative School Nursing practice in the county.

There are two vacancies of 22.5 hrs all year round and will be based in Wells though successful applicants may be expected to work across Mendip and surrounding areas.

Applicants must be Registered Nurses and hold current NMC registration. Access to a vehicle and possession of a full driving license is essential

Applicants are required to have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work in partnership and communicate with both clients and multi-agency professionals and have a flexible attitude to work.
