A new exciting opportunity for a 37.5 hour Band 8A Clinical Lead and Advanced Practice Occupational Therapist has arisen within Somerset’s Specialist Community Adult Learning Disability Health Team and Somerset Partnership NHS Trust.
We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated individual who has qualities of strong leadership, creativity and vision. The role will provide clinical leadership and quality assurance for the Learning Disability Occupational Therapy Specialist Health Team and lead the wider trust with sensory Integration expertise.
Alongside the Clinical Lead role the post holder will manage a specialist caseload of adults with severe and or complex learning disabilities, working alongside the Specialist Community Adult Learning Disability Health Team and wider stakeholders. The post holder will be an integral part of the Learning Disability Specialist Health Team contributing to key service initiatives and developments, as well as being the Trust wide Lead in the development of SI delivery.
The successful post holder will have experience of working with adults who have Learning Disabilities within the community and supervising others. The post holder will have sensory Integration experience and qualification to be able to offer the practical advice to the wider trust 2 days a week. The post holder will be supported with opportunities for ongoing professional development as a Clinical Lead and Advanced Specialist Occupational Therapist, as well as the continuing development of the SI role.
This will be 3 days a week in the West side of Somerset. The base for this post will be Wellington District Cottage Hospital although dependent on where the successful candidate lives this can be looked at and negotiated.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
