Due to the retirement of the current Senior Ward Sister on Portman Ward after a long and happy service, we would like to welcome registered nurses to apply for this pivotal role.
Portman Ward is a friendly team, which cares for acute medical patients, with an emphasis on respiratory medicine. Our nursing team are highly regarded within the department, and work closely with the Respiratory Consultants and specialist nurses to ensure the finest patient care is delivered.
We are looking for someone with excellent leadership skills to run the ward, and to maintain superb patient care, monitor standards and inspire the team.
You’ll act as a clinical role model with a commitment to develop the staff as well as your own professional growth. Your excellent communications skills, high standards and passion will enable you to enhance the experience of your patients, and make a real difference.

Ideally, you’ll have experience as a junior sister and be enthusiastic and ready for the challenge of running a ward, as well as the great satisfaction that comes with it.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
