The Department of ENT-Head and Neck Surgery at Taunton & Somerset NHS Foundation Trust has 5 full-time consultants, as well as 1 post shared with Royal Devon & Exeter to provide a head and neck cancer service.
We are looking for a General ENT surgeon with sub-specialty interest in otology to join our team.
This post is to augment the department, and we will expect the successful candidate to provide a general ENT service with a subspecialist interest in otology, predominantly middle ear disease.
Musgrove Park Hospital is a 750 bed District General Hospital serving West Somerset. It is a dynamic and rapidly developing hospital, with a recently completed Jubilee Building housing the general surgical wards and plans for new theatre and critical care facilities. We are a Foundation Trust and will be looking for the appointee to work with the Trust to develop the service and the Trust. The Trust has an excellent Teaching Academy and Postgraduate Centre and its own Research & Development Support Unit.
The Hospital is a busy District General Hospital situated in the south-west of England in the county town of Taunton, just off the M5 motorway 37 miles north of Exeter, 48 miles south of Bristol. Taunton lies in a vale surrounded by designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is an excellent choice of schools, both in the private and state sectors. London is less than 2 hours by rail.
The trust is at an advanced stage of progress towards keeping paperless records, which is expected to be fully implemented by 2018.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
