Are you a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who is ready to progress your career and ready for an exciting challenge? If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen on Dunkery ward at Musgrove Park Hospital.
Dunkery Ward is a 23 bedded unit; this unit includes 4 hyper acute beds in its HASU, which provides evidence based stroke management by providing rapid assessment, treatment and continuous monitoring within first 72 hours following to stroke. The Unit also provides a 24 hour nurse/consultant led outreach service for thrombolysis, which involves working alongside the emergency department.
As a band 6 nurse you will be expected to focus on the clinical leadership of the nursing team whilst actively supporting the Ward Manager in further development the service. High standards of clinical performance are essential together with good leadership skills and an interest in developing your managerial potential.
The successful candidate would become part of a friendly and proactive multidisciplinary team who are excited about the future of Stroke care within the trust and strive to deliver a high standard of individualised care to all our patients. There would also be the potential for a secondment/rotation to the community to enhance collaborative working between the trust and Somerset partnership to provide more seamless care for our patients.
The stroke team consists 4 stroke consultants,1 associate specialist , 3 stroke practitioners and specialist physiotherapist, occupational therapist, dietitian and speech and language therapist who work as one team.
