An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Band 6 to join Somerset County Wide Single Point of Access (SPA) for CAMHS.
As a CAMHS SPA Senior Mental Health Practitioner the post holder will have particular responsibility for providing consultation, advice and assessments for children and young people. The post holder will work autonomously and collaboratively with team members providing services at a clinical base and within client’s homes, as well as a range of other settings as appropriate.
They will be the first point of contact for CAMHS for many partner agencies and contribute to the formation and delivery care plans for young people.
They will facilitate referral to specialist CAMHS where appropriate but will support and work with colleagues in tier 2 services to manage children and young people’s needs without specialist referral whenever possible.
The post holder will be a member of the CAMHS Team and have responsibility for assessment, treatment and evaluation of care provided to some clients referred to the team. They will provide education, advice, and practical support to young people and their families as well as brief therapeutic interventions.
Working with colleagues within and outside the Trust, the post holder will also ensure an appropriate access to Emotional Health and Wellbeing Services is facilitated for vulnerable groups including Looked After Children.
The post holder will develop close working relationships with key partner agencies in their locality, including GP practices, schools, colleges and social care practitioners. Key links will also be established with local Children’s Centres to facilitate cooperation and joint working.
The post holder will provide support to other team members and when required provide clinical supervision to students on placement within the team.
The post holders job plan will include all elements of the role as detailed above.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
