Do you have the passion and enthusiasm to help transform mental health services across Somerset?

Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, in collaboration with the Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group (SCCG), Local Authority and the Voluntary Sector are transforming mental health services across Somerset

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the establishment of this service transformation across the county delivering enhanced high-quality mental health care to all adults, irrespective of the age.

The transformation will remove the traditional boundaries between mental health services and primary care with a single point of access based on a philosophy of ‘no wrong door’. It will include the full range of severity and services based upon the i-THRIVE principles of promoting coping skills, and providing support when needed at the right level:

  • Coping – promoting strengths and resilience in communities and neighbourhoods
  • Getting some support – improved access to support and treatment in primary care
  • Getting more support -  closer working relationships between specialist mental health and primary care and neighbourhood services
  • Risk assessment and management – for those with more severe problems who need secondary mental health and inpatient services

EDSA are currently expanding to enable the delivery of the FREED (First episode Rapid Early intervention for Eating Disorders) care package alongside their existing service. You will have responsibility for ensuring the smooth and effective implementation and manage all referrals for this pathway

You will be based with the expanding Eating Disorders Service for Adults (EDSA), which sits within the wider Community Mental Health Service. The primary focus is working with clients accessing treatment through the FREED pathway, though you will also contribute to the broader EDSA as appropriate.

In addition, you are also responsible for providing line management to Eating Disorder Psychological Therapists, and liaising and working with other professionals as appropriate, alongside the promotion and development in the service of psychological approaches.

All team members will be supported in their ongoing professional development through an induction and training programme.

Please apply for this post if you:

  • Have passion and enthusiasm for working within and developing our approach to mental health services.
  • Are a team player, who works collaboratively to support recovery
  • Want to be part of developing practice across Somerset.
